American actor Allison Brooks Janney was born on November 19, 1959. Her work on the screen as well as stage have received acclaim over the span of her 3 decades-long career. Janney debuted on television at the age of 1999. She played C. J. Cregg as part of the NBC political drama The West Wing from 1999-2006 in which she won the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. As a result of her performance in The Showtime series Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress In a Drama Series. Janney has won two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy series and was also recognized six times in the Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was born in Dayton. Janney is the daughter of Macy Brooks Janney, an actress and Jervis Scott Janney Jr. Jervis Scott Janney Jr., a jazz singer as well as a real estate investor. Jay is her elder brother.
